Something's Rotten! Rotten! Something's rotten! Rotten! Something's rotten... in Denmark! Something's rotten here I heard it with my ear I wish it would go away But I have to guard all day I really must confess Denmark is a mess Something's rotten... Something's rotten!

Tush, Tush 02:33
Tush, Tush Nay: Tush, tush, 'twill not appear You think you saw a little ghost around here? Yay: We saw him with our eyes in armor walking here tonight I saw him in the light of my flashlight Yay: He wore metal stone and he held a bone While he danced around my bedroom in a twirly storm Nay: King Hamlet's gone away He's far far away He didn't know he was going away Nay: Tush, tush, have no fear You've got foggy heads, but just listen and they'll clear Yay: No no, you are wrong I just heard him bang the gong Wait here with us... trust me! You'll see him come! Yay: He wore metal stone and he held a bone While he danced around my bedroom in a twirly storm Nay: King Hamlet's gone away He's far far away He didn't know he was going away Nay: Tush, tush, it was only a dog bark are you afraid of the dark in Denmark?

More than kin and less than kind I wish another prince you'd find you're the meanest man I met in my whole lifetime More than kin and less than kind More than kin and less than kind A more evil man you cannot find You took the crown, made yourself king You married my mom, you ruined everything

I am but mad north by northwest when the wind blows southerly I can tell a shirt from a vest a hawk from a handsaw sun from the moon I can tell a chimp from a bonobo I can tell me from you but it all fades away when the sun sets I got to get mad I got to get as mad as I can get something's gotta change I need a plan something's gotta change I need a plan

about

All proceeds from this record after expenses will go to earthquake relief in Japan.

This is a collection of songs from a Hamlet musical I wrote with my wife's second-grade class. She cut the original script down to about 30 pages and the kids and I wrote a bunch of great songs. We wanted you to hear them so we made this quickie album with the help of Dean Jones, Dave Schramm, and a couple of the Deedle Deedle Dees.

Every download of this album includes the script we used for the show. If you're a teacher, you're welcome to use this script and any of this music in your classroom to help you teach Hamlet.

If you'd like to perform any of these songs for profit, send me an e-mail (thedeedledeedledees AT yahoo DOT com). I'll probably say no but it will depend on the situation.

Dean Jones recorded all the instrumental tracks and backing vocals and produced the record. www.dogonfleas.com

Dave Schramm recorded the kid vocals. Check out his podcast radiofreesongclub.com if you'd like to be humbled as a songwriter.

Band:
Sarah and Jon's class - lead vocals
Chris Johnson - electric bass, banjo, keyboard, piano, melodica, chimes, backing vocals
Dean Jones - electric and acoustic guitars
Ely Levin - drums, percussion, backing vocals
Lloyd Miller - acoustic guitar, lead and backing vocals

Btw -- I'm also going to post some of the artwork the kids created for the show and the program in place of the generic folio image soon.

In case you're interested: The Dees are working on a new album with Dean Jones that we're planning to release in the fall. You can buy our last two records here:
